The Pullman Civic Trust is a non-profit volunteer organization of more than 700
community-minded citizens of the Palouse.
- Our goals are varied yet share a common theme:
-- Create a healthy, prosperous, and sustainable community through
projects that restore and enhance the natural and built environment.
-- Generate community spirit through wise, long-term planning that fosters
cooperation between citizens and government leaders.
-- Provide an opportunity for like-minded citizens to act locally through an
established well-respected organization.
- Since its inception in 1983, the Trust has
completed many projects that now benefit Pullman and the Palouse.  We have:
-- Developed the coalition and sustained the effort that created the Bill Chipman Palouse
Trail between Pullman and Moscow.
-- Created the Civic Trust River Park, a 2 1/2-acre city park and checkdam-waterfall
along the S. Fork of the Palouse between Reaney Park and Main Street overpass.
-- Sponsored yearly workshops on community vision, design and the environment.
-- Introduced the Main Street program into Pullman to foster beautification and
revitalization projects in the downtown area.
-- Planted and tended the scores of trees now flourishing from Derby Street along
the Professional Mall Blvd. to the meadow below Summit Therapy on Bishop Blvd.
-- Planted trees on the south slope by the Terre View Street bridge along the
Palouse highway.
-- Provided frequent creative and financial support to numerous smaller community
enhancement projects.
