The Pullman Civic Trust does not just organize major projects such as the Bill Chipman Palouse Trail and the Civic Trust River Park.  The Trust also contributes financial support to a number of community-enhancing projects, such as the following examples since 2000.

  • Three flower baskets for Main Street.
  • A WSU-built structure on the north side of Hwy. 270 for ecology and science field classes for Pullman students.
  • Registration fees for two City Park and Planning Directors to the U of I Rural Town Symposium to encourage regional networking.
  • Fundraising for new trees planted by GroundWorks and student volunteers along the South Fork of the Palouse, part of our ongoing effort to restore the river to health and green our urban environment.
  • Added $986 to the $1,500 in donations to the John Wardwell Memorial Maple Tree Grove.  The grove will consist of fifteen maples of three varieties to symbolize the fifteen years the Trust established and maintained the River Park before returning it to the roster of City parks.  The red, orange, and yellow-leaf maples will be planted behind the Armory, creating a colorful canopy framing the entry into downtown.
  • Funding for the Mike Werner Interpretive Site on the Bill Chipman Trail, "Birds of the Palouse," in honor of Mike's retirement and his contributions towards making this trail a reality.
  • River Park sprinkler system, landscaping and sign for the purpose of maintaining the River Park as a place of pride.
  • Donation to the Gladish Center for its elevator/bridge campaign.  We support the work of this dedicated civic group for investing in our downtown and providing a valuable community asset for all.
  • New Year's WSU student architectural design show that displayed conceptual mixed-use building options for key locations in our downtown.  Displayed at the Gladish Community Center.
